The Editor Layout
Learn what the project header, Scene View, Hierarchy, Inspector, dockable windows, status areas, and toolbar are responsible for in Filmstrip 0.5.
Filmstrip’s editor is composed of one main scene workspace plus focused native tool windows. The top project header keeps common project and authoring commands visible, while dockable tools can be arranged and resized for the task at hand.
Main areas
- Project header: project identity, common scene commands, Play Mode, undo and redo availability, and access to major windows.
- Scene View: world placement, grid tools, selection, panning, zooming, tile painting, and visual object editing.
- Hierarchy: ordered scene objects and multi-selection.
- Inspector: Components and editable properties for the current selection.
- Status and title feedback: dirty-state marker, validation or operation messages, and current scene identity.
Focused windows
- RPG Database, Party / Inventory Debugger, Dialogue Editor, Action Sequence Editor, Condition Tree Editor, Tile Workspace, Smart Tile Editor, Animated Tile Editor, Audio Library, Keyboard Settings, Project Settings, Project Asset Browser, Package Windows Game, and Frame Profiler.
- Tool windows may float or dock and remember machine-local layout without becoming project content.
Selection-aware tools
The Hierarchy, Scene View, and Inspector share ordered scene selection. A single selected object exposes its complete Component controls. Multi-selection exposes supported grouped operations such as activation, visibility, tags, transforms, duplication, copying, and deletion.
