Inspecting Asset Usage and Dependencies

Identify which scenes, definitions, templates, dialogues, or settings refer to an asset before moving or removing it.

Filmstrip builds a dependency view from the project’s supported authored documents. This lets the editor explain why an asset is referenced and which owner would need to change.

Dependency owners may include

  • Scene Components and sprite references.
  • Tilesets and tile definitions.
  • Actor portraits and battle sheets.
  • Item, Ability, and Status icons.
  • Encounter backgrounds and Quest illustrations.
  • Audio definitions.
  • Dialogue, templates, project settings, and other versioned data documents.

Inspect an asset

  1. Open Project Asset Browser.
  2. Search or filter until the asset is visible.
  3. Select the asset.
  4. Review its status and dependency count.
  5. Read the Dependencies list before planning a move, rename, or deletion.

Missing references

A missing reference is represented separately from an existing unused asset. The browser records the expected project-relative path and the exact authored owner that contains it.
